Dr. DAL (M’08) received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkiye, in 1985 and 1987, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Kocaeli University, Kocaeli, Turkiye, in 2001.
He
joined Kocaeli University in 1992, where he
served in the Department of
Electrical and Energy Engineering at Kocaeli Vocational
School. He has held
several international research appointments, including Visiting Researcher positions at the Robotics Institute, University of Maribor,
Slovenia (2005), the EMAD Laboratory, University of Wuppertal,
Germany (2006), and the
Department of Energy Technology,
Aalborg University, Denmark (2006–2012).
In
2013, he became a Postdoctoral Researcher at Aalborg University. From 2015 to 2018, he served as a Visiting Professor
at the EAL Institute, Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. Since 2022, he has been
a faculty member in the Department of Electronics and Communication
Engineering, Kocaeli University, Türkiye.
He
has been involved in several nationally and internationally funded research
projects. These include the MILRES
Wind Turbine Project,
supported by TÜBİTAK, Türkiye (2015–2016); serving as a Consultant for
the REGeKAS Regenerative Energy
Recovery System Project
developed for Metro Istanbul (2016–2017); and
acting as Joint Coordinator of the DFIG-based Wind Energy Production System
Project, supported by TÜBİTAK, Kocaeli University,
Türkiye, and TUM, Germany (2017–2019).
His research interests include power
electronics in green power systems and advanced sensor- and sensorless control
of variable speed electrical machine drives; integration of renewable energy
systems such as solar and wind power to grid.
He has published 20 articles in international journals and conference proceedings. His current research focuses on energy recovery systems for battery-powered electric vehicles, the development of high-efficiency power electronics converters for electric vehicle powertrain applications, and RCP-based control of electric machines, contributing to modern engineering education.
He
is a member of IEEE,
and
is the volunteer chair of the university's IEEE student chapter.
